When are we closing the polls on this?
It will have a big impact on the offseason, and choices we all have to make.

Perhaps we can message every owner. There are enough who haven't voted that result could be different.

I know what i said. No i think Weer should go down to 6 teams minus yours as well.
I'll explain it for you.
If teams are here and posting attention they can have a say a vote. I say we reach 50 vote and if Mike is voted then go with whatever it says. It's Mike choice anyway.
This is being discussed because people haven't been here and paid attention so waiting for others to follow suit. Email everyone if you wish. You have access.

From my experience in previous leagues, contraction has never worked. Mustard's point about the strength of the line-ups preventing player movement after contraction - I have seen it happen - we went from 16 to 12 teams and didn't last the season after a couple of additional owners lost interest.
I would suggest the following: Make every effort to replace the 2 or 3 owners that we need, but instead of making the new owners choose one of the existing teams, put all of the players on those teams in a draft pool and let the new owners choose their own teams from who is available (including current free agents). Hopefully this will be more enticing than picking up a last place team. Once this is complete we can open up the free agency to the remaining teams. It may delay the free agency period, but I believe it will be better for the league in the long run.

If we decide to not do cotraction that is great idea. This vote however is wether you would like contraction or not. So lets get this out of the way first then if we dont contract lets make these suggestions for then.
7 people so far have voted, more than 50% of active players.
Vote vote vote

I agree with Ottawa, very nice idea, would like to see us try this even though I already voted for contraction.

I think this is a nice idea as well though getting a list of free agents is difficult with the ahl teams as well. it may be frustrating but I would be willing to give it a shot

I think it's an interesting idea. Not add much as contraction. But anyway. Biggest problem is finding the gms to host this draft and then keeping our fingers crossed that they stay after our is back to square one. Called me old fashioned but the historical trend says they leave cause every year we are replacing minimum 2 gms.

I say before. It will give us a better idea of where our teams are to round it out with the draft and FA season.
Poll?
